July 19th is a D-Day of sorts for Tom Atencio and Affliction as they will broadcast their debut MMA event on pay-per-view. The card is headlined by a bout featuring two of the world’s top five heavyweights in Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia. In what is being reported as a last-ditch effort, the UFC is in the midst of creating a card on the same date with a possible broadcast on SpikeTV.

Details are somewhat sketchy as of right now, but reports indicate that Wanderlei Silva and Brandon Vera are under consideration for a light heavyweight tilt to headline the card.

Silva is coming off a brutal knockout win at UFC 84 against Keith Jardine. Vera, on the other hand, is coming off a controversial TKO stoppage loss against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 85.

Other rumored fighters approached for the proposed evening include Dan Henderson and James Irvin.
