Bisping made a successful debut in the 185 pound division last Saturday after a TKO stoppage at the end of the first round against Charles McCarthy. Chris Leben, whose stint in the UFC began with the first season of The Ultimate Fighter, is coming off a two-fight KO win streak over Terry Martin and recently against Alessio Sakara.
After much shuffling concerning the main event, Rashad Evans participation has been confirmed as well. The Greg Jackson-trained light heavyweight filled in for Mauricio Shogun Rua as Chuck Liddells opponent. However, Liddell suffered a torn hamstring last week. As a result, Evans is now set to take on James Sandman Irvin.
Evans last fight was a tightly-contested split decision win against Michael Bisping at UFC 78. Irvin is hot off the heels of a controversial, eight-second TKO stoppage of Houston Alexander on April 2nd.
As confirmed earlier in the week, the new main event will pit Thiago Pitbull Alves against Matt Hughes.
